So weit.

As time goes by...

ok... seems like my AL project is frozen right now. may be caused by the weather, or may be my fault. there are lot of other things to do, with focus on those, which brings money. hey - sometimes money is all you need, just to make your life more pleasant and so to have time to think right about such disposable things like AL. oh, and just because I cope with since 1 year: when your job is boring (like mine) you even think about renouncing to some bucks just to have more fun. besides, for some unknown reason, this site is not listed in any search list. not in google, not anyone else. courious enough, because i sent the url to some important lists. or do they omit sites generated by blogger? uh, no - other blogger sites are also listed. anyway.

artificial work in progress... please wait

it's some time ago, since i last thought about AI. maybe it's because i have no one in my neighbourhood who can listen to me for more than 5 minutes, until he/she asks: "what for doing this?" and: "who's gonna want to know, what an artificial life would do - like in your scenario?" so i obviously have to do it that way, that any user can interact with "it" to get in touch to this fascination of artificial life. what is not going to became, is this kind of computer games which simulate a puppy which you can play with and have to take care and feed. in fact, there is allways an defined algotithm behind it, not capable to make you feel it is alive. and this is the point, where my project is going to be something special. i create a definite world with some few definite propreties and then i add some "life" into it. and this "life" follows some fuzzy definitions of how to live and makes something unpredictable for anyone (or even not). to achieve this, there are some prerequisites to me met: this "life" must interact with its surroundings by touching, smelling, tasting and seeing it. so i am on the way to give "it" a couple of "feelings" - in my opinion, a must-have to simulate life. but what to smell if there is nothing but... air? well, the environment and all the things including (and so the "life") are sticked allover with sensoric keys. the sensoric keys consist of more specific segments which together define a key. some of these segments are specific for the 4 sins the "life" can react with. some other segments define the kind of "feeling" it has to the "life". let me explain it: when there is a "rock" in this artificial world and a "life" comes near to it, it can smell it for example. this means it "reads" the smell-sensoric-keys from the "stone" and interprets them. first "it" will just save this kind of "smell" and not know what to do with or what it is. that's because there is no precedent experience with a stone. but when "it" will smell the stone twice, there will be some remainding about that smell, and the "life" could link to it. let's imagine this: the "life" comes in touch with a stone and gets "hurt" for some reason - maybe is this stone hot. now, the "life" would have memorize, that there is some unpleasant "feeling" when you smell a stone. this conditioning will be as fuzzy, as anything else happening in this artificial world. so it is also possible, that the "life" has no conditionate behaviour regarding stones.

(to be continued...)
